Counting from Faith to Kingdom/PARSHA EMOR

By Matthew Moshe Nolan

VAYIKRA/Leviticus 21:1: VAYOMER YHWH EL-MOSHE EMOR EL-HAKOHANIM BENEI AHARON VE’AMARTA ALEHEM LENEFESH  LO-YITAMA BE’AMAV.

YHWH said to MOSHE, “Speak to the KOHANIM, the sons of AHARON, and you shall say to them, ‘Let him not defile himself with the dead among the people.’”  2 Except to his kin to whom he is closely related:  for his mother and his father, for his son, his daughter, and for his brother.  3 For his virgin sister to whom he is closely related who has not yet been married, for her he may be defiled.  4 A husband may not defile himself among his people [for a wife through whom] he becomes profaned.  5 They shall not make baldness on their heads and the corners of their beards they shall not shave, and they shall not make gashes in their flesh.  6 They shall be holy to their ELOHIM and they shall not profane the Name of their Elohim, for [it is] the fire-offerings of YHWH, the bread of their Elohim [that] they bring [offer], and they must [therefore] be holy.  7 A harlot or a profaned woman they shall not marry.  A woman divorced from her husband they shall not marry, for he is holy to his ELOHIM.  8 You shall make him holy for he offers the bread of your ELOHIM; he shall be holy unto you for I, YHWH, am holy, Who makes you holy.  9 The daughter of a KOHEN, who profanes herself by fornication – she  profanes her father – she shall be burned with fire.

Counting from Faith to Kingdom Salvation

Counting the Omer prepares us to move on from First Fruits faith salvation into Kingdom salvation!

I’ve been teaching for several years about being a saved believer, yet not being the bride and not being in the priesthood … meaning you can be saved and in the body of MOSHIACH, but you have to be the bone (CHAVA) that’s taken out of the body to qualify as the bride.

Priesthood – Observing the TORAH in YAHUSHUA qualifies you to be in the MALKI-TZEDIK priest-hood.  Oxymoron = to be a lawless priest.  Today I’m going to develop this further relating it to the counting of the Omer that qualifies you as being great in the Malchut (kingdom) of YHWH.

Saving faith to kingdom faith.

Salvation from eternal destruction into the Olam Haba (eternity) comes by Emunah (faith) … Emunah only.

Ephesians 2:8: For by unmerited favor are you saved through Emunah; and that not of yourselves:  It is the gift of YHWH9 not by our Mitzvoth, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5: Not by works of Tzedakah which we have done, but according to His Rachamim He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing work of the Ruach Kodesh; 6 which He shed on us abundantly through Yahshua HaMoshiach our Savior; 7 that being declared a Tzadik by His unmerited favor, we should be made heirs of the Tikvah of eternal Chayim.

Salvation from hell and death in the nations into Malchut Ha Shamayim (Kingdom) comes from works of Torah.  Emunah (faith) is never mentioned for being saved into the Kingdom.  Never.

If you mix up and confuse salvation into “heaven” – the Olam Haba – with salvation into Malchut Ha Shamayim – “the Kingdom” – you will never understand Malchut ha Shamayim.

There are two kinds of Tzedekah:

Philippians 3:9: And be found in Him, not having my own Tzedakah, which is from the Torah, but that which is through the Emunah of Moshiach, the Tzedakah that is from YHWH by Emunah.

(All righteousness doesn’t come from YHWH.)

  • Front-loading the Gospel:  Salvation is a free gift.
  • Back-loading the Gospel:  If they were truly saved, they wouldn’t have done … this … or …that.
  • Only good things happen after I die. Not true!

2 Corinthians 5:8: This is why we are confident, I say, willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with YHWH9 Therefore, we labor that, whether present or absent from home, we may be pleasing to Him.  10 For we must all appear before the bema seat of Moshiach; that everyone may receive the things done with his body, according to what he has done, whether it be tov or bad.

This promise is given to those who have faith and labor, are pleasing, and have done works of Torah.  This is not a blanket statement to faith-without-works saved believers.

We need to have a Kingdom perspective – a hope of reward and a fear of punishment.

So what are we saved from or into with so many different Hebrew and Greek words used to describe so many different functions of various forms of salvation?

2 Corinthians 1:6: And whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation, being worked out in enduring the same sufferings, which we also suffer; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort and salvation.

Saved from the power of sin, not into eternity.

Philippians 1:19: For I know that this shall turn into my salvation through your Tefillot, and the gift of the Ruach of YAHSHUA haMoshiach.

Saved from the power of sin, not into eternity.

Philippians 2:12: Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Saved from the power of sin, not into eternity.

Faith that produces Torah works: Saves you from the penalty of exclusion from the atid lavoh (Millennium Kingdom) – Yaacov (James) 1 and 2.

Faith: Saves you from the penalty of being cast into the lake of fire.

Believers who are works-unworthy, who have only faith, at best could spend the Millennium in the nations outside of the Kingdom … or worse, in Death and Hades.

Tekuna Mishpat Ha Moshiach (The Judgment Seat of Moshiach)

Revelation 20:11: And I saw a great Kesay Lavan, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the olam and the shamayim fled away; and there was found no place for them.  12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before YHWH; and the scrolls were opened: and another scroll was opened, which is the Sefer Ha Chayim: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the scrolls, according to their own mitzvoth.  13 And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Sheol delivered up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their own mitzvoth.  14 And death and Sheol were cast into the Lake of Fire.  This is the second death.  15 And whoever was not found written in the Sefer Ha Chayim was cast into the Lake of Fire.

Notice the sea gives up the dead, death and Hell give up the dead, and v.15 – by deduction –   tells us that there are some who were in death and hell that are found written in the Sefer Ha Chayim.  These are believers who were not in Malchut ha Shamayim yet had eternal saving faith – not Kingdom works of Torah and faith – and were thus excluded from the atid lavoh (millennium), spending their portion of time allotted with the unbelievers just as Yahushua said.  We need to focus on what the Scripture does say and not speculate on what it doesn’t!

Ephesians 2:10: For we are His masterpiece, recreated in the Moshiach Yahushua to tov mitzvoth, which YHWH has ordained beforehand that we should perform as our halacha.

Colossians 3:23: And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to YHWH and not to men; 24 knowing that from the Master YHWH you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve Yahushua ha Moshiach.  25 But he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong that he has done; and there is no partiality of persons.

Matthew 19:12: There are some eunuchs who were so born from their Eema’s womb, and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for Malchut ha Shamayim’s sake.  He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Galatians 5:19: Now the works of the flesh are well known, among which are these:  adultery, fornication, uncleanness, indecency, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, quarrels, jealousies, rage, strife, selfish ambition, stubbornness, heresies, 21 envy, murder, drunkenness, wild indecent parties, and all such things; about which I warn you again as I have also done in times past, that those who practice such things as the derech of their Chayim shall not inherit the Malchut of YHWH.  (Eph 5:3)

Sixty-two Times in Sefer Mattitayahu – Machut Ha Shamayim

Luke 12:42: Yahshua said, Who then is that faithful and wise eved, whom His Master shall make ruler over His household, to give them their portion of food in due season? [Is the person a believer?] 43 Blessed is that eved, whom His Master when He comes shall find so doing.  44 Of an emet I say to you, That He will make him ruler over all that He has.  45 But if that eved says in his lev, My Master delays His coming and shall begin to beat the male avadim and female avadim, and to eat and drink, and to be drunk, 46 the Master of that eved will come in a day when he looks not for Him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.  47 And that eved, who knew His Master’s will and did not prepare himself, neither did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.  For to whom much is given, of him shall be much required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the most.  49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and how I wish that it be already lit?

Olam Haba/Heaven’s saving faith will not mean you will escape the Tekuna Mishpat ha Moshiach/the Judgment Seat of Moshiach.

Matthew 18:32: Then his Master, after He had called him, said to him, O you wicked eved.  I forgave you all that debt, because you begged Me. 33 Should not you have also have had rachamim on your fellow eved, even as I had rachamim on you?  34 And his Master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers, until he should pay all that was due to Him.  35 So likewise shall My heavenly Abba do also to you.

Born-again believers are saved into the Olam Haba – “heaven” – by faith … and that’s all you need to make it into the Olam Haba – faith.  Those believers who have faith but no works of Torah – and never persevered past their carnal, animal nature – will be saved yet cut into two (saved yet have to pay their due) … they’ll be delivered to the torturers; have to pay what was due them; cast into outer darkness/the nations, their portion being appointed with the unbelievers and called “You wicked, lazy slave”; beaten with many stripes and put through fire, burned, and tortured” during the reign of the kingdom 1000 years.  (Luke 12:35, 25:14)

1 Corinthians 3:13: Every man’s mitzvoth shall be made manifest; for the Light of Yom HaDin shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s mitzvoth of what sort it is.  14 If any man’s mitzvoth remain which he has built on, he shall receive a reward.  15 If any man’s mitzvoth shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, as one who has been saved by a fire.

Atid Lavoh (1000-Year Kingdom)

Saved into by works of Torah – a different requirement.  No mention of faith, EVER! You can lose this salvation, and you don’t know whether you have attained it until you’re in Malchut Ha Shamayim.

Philippians 3:12: Not as though I had already attained it [salvation into Malchut Ha Shamayim] or was already perfected; but I follow after, so that I may apprehend the reasons why I was also apprehended by Moshiach Yahshua.  13 Yisraelite brothers, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things that are behind me, I reach and strive for those things that are yet before me.  14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of victory of the high calling of YHWH in Moshiach Yahshua.  15 Let us, therefore, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think differently, YHWH shall reveal even this to you.

Olam Haba (Eternity/Heaven)

Saved into purely by faith, no works of Torah – cannot lose this salvation.

By running these two distinctly different time periods together comes confusion.  The basis between Calvinism – saved by faith and Armenianism – saved by works.

I teach you all that to teach you why we do all this: the counting of the Omer!

Vayikra (Leviticus) 23:10: Speak to the children of Yisrael, and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap the harvest of it, then you shall bring an omer of the beginning of your harvest to the kohen. [Barley – notice Aviv is absent  from the text.  The grain is to be brought regardless of its stage of development because it’s a beginning Omer offering.] 11 And he shall wave the omer before YHWH, to be accepted for you; on the next day after the first day the Cohen shall wave it.  12 And you shall offer that day when you wave the omer a male lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to YHWH.  13 And the grain offering of it shall be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering made by fire to YHWH for a sweet fragrance; and the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin.  14 And you shall eat neither lechem, nor parched corn, nor plump kernels until the same day that you have brought an offering to your Elohim; it shall be a chuk le-olam-va-ed throughout your generations in all your dwellings.  15 And you shall count from the next day after the Shabbat, from the day that you brought the omer of the wave offering seven full weeks; 16 Until the next day after the last week shall you number fifty days, and you shall offer a new grain offering to YHWH. [wheat] 17 You shall bring out of your dwellings two wave loaves of two-tenths of an ephah; they shall be of fine flour, they shall be baked with chametz, they are the bikkurim to YHWH. 18 And you shall offer with the lechem seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bull, and two rams; they shall be for a burnt offering to YHWH, with their grain offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire of sweet fragrance to YHWH. 19 Then you shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering and two male lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of shalom offerings.  20 And the Cohen shall wave them with the lechem of the bikkurim for a wave offering before YHWH with the two lambs.  They shall be kadosh to YHWH for the Cohen. 21 And you shall proclaim on the same day that it may be a miqra kodesh to you; you shall do no laborious work on it; it shall be a chuk le-olam-va-ed in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Baruch atah YHWH eloheinu melech ha olam asher kadishanu bar mitzvah tov vitzi vanu al seifrat la omer.

Blessed are you YHWH eloheinu, King of the universe, Who has commanded us concerning the counting of the omer (al hanifat – waving the sheaf)

Ma’aseh Schlichim (Acts) 1:1: The first scroll have I made, O Theophilos, of all that Yahshua began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Ruach Kodesh had given His Torah to the shlichim whom He had chosen.  3 To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the malchut of YHWH4 And, as He ate lechem together with them, He commanded them that they should not depart from Yahrushalayim, but wait for the Promise of Abba which, He said, you have heard from Me.  5 For Yochanan ha Matbeel truly immersed with mayim; but you shall be immersed with the Ruach Kodesh not many days from now.  6 When they therefore had come together, they asked Him saying, Master, will You at this time restore again the malchut to Yisrael7 And He said to them, It is not for you to know the times, or the moadim, which Abba has put under His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power after the Ruach Kodesh has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me both in Yahrushalayim, and in all Yahudah, and in Shomron, and to the four corners of the olam. 9 And when He had spoken these things, while they looked, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Master, When Will You Restore the Malchut to Yisrael?

At Shavuot two loaves will be made into one … two houses made into one and the two natures – carnal and kingdom – made into a kingdom nature.

14th – Pesach

15th – Chag Matzot

15th -16th – First Fruit Barley Sickle Harvest

16th a.m. – Yom Echad L’Omer

Day 50 – Shavuot – At the Harvests – Barley and Wheat

This barley?  Yes, this barley!
With this sickle?  Yes, with this sickle!
With this sheaf?  Yes, with this sheaf!

  • 50 days going from the 1st Adam to the 2nd Adam.
  • Our sages tell us that Israel experienced 50 levels of descent into Mitzrayim, ultimately ending up being fed the food of animals and being treated as animals.  So how many levels of Olah/Aliyah/accent would it take us to gain the Malchut?
  • Animal instinct to Kingdom instinct.
  • Barley is animal feed.
  • Wheat makes bread – the essence of human existence – it’s spiritual.
  • Going from the food of the 1st Adam to the food of the 2nd Adam.
  • We are the first fruits of the … ?  Barley harvest! The first fruits with an earthy, natural animal tendency.

Most believers continue to eat barley – the earthy, natural animal food.  Will barley inherit Malchut Ha Shamayim?  Is barley permissible to wave at the Kingdom Moed – Shavuot?  No!

1 Corinthians 15:46: But the spiritual Ahdahm was not first, but the natural Ahdahm; and afterwards the spiritual One.  47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second Man is the Master YHWH from the shamayim.  48 As is the earthy, so also are those that are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those that are heavenly.  49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy one, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly One.  50 Now this I say, Yisraelite brothers, that flesh and dahm cannot inherit the malchut of YHWH; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.  51 Behold, I show you a sod mystery:  we shall not all die, but we shall all be changed.

  • We need to count – we are commanded to count – to Shavuot to attain the spiritual disciplined nature of obedience so we can enter into Malchut Ha Shamayim – by works of Torah. Even to be counted as least in Malchut Ha Shamayim – because you couldn’t accept all the authority of Torah … you could only accept the parts you agreed with – still to be least in the Kingdom your tzadikah/works of Torah/righteousness had better exceed the tzadikah of the Sofrim and Prushim … no mention of emunah.
  • We’re to go to Jerusalem because that’s where our food is.  Barley, if you’re saved into the Olam Haba by emunah alone.  Yet still in your carnal, animal nature.  Wheat, if you have counted the Omer/works of Torah and are saved into Malchut ha Shamayim.
  • Barley is for the earthy believer who will inherit the Olam Haba.
  • Wheat is for the spiritual believer who has become obedient to YHWH who will inherit the Malchut.
  • It’s about moving from just physical freedom to spiritual freedom.
  • Moshiach ascended on the 40th day of the Omer, thus fitting the pattern because He didn’t need to be transformed from the carnal, animal nature into the Priestly Kingdom nature.  He had what we needed.
