Beresheeth/Genesis 25:19: Ve’eleh toldot Yitzchak ben-Avraham Avraham holid et-Yitzchak.
These are the descendants of Yitzchak son of Avraham. Avraham was the father of Yitzchak.
Overview:
- 25:19 :Two nations are in the womb/Selling of the birthright at the funeral of Avraham.
- Helping you attain prophecy, let’s begin with Hitdot first.
- Chapter 26: The wells of Yitzchak and Abimilech ( A shadow prophecy of the current Middle East situation with the Palestinians)
- Chapter 27: The blessing of Yaacov, honor your mother and the voice of YHWH
- 27:30 The tears of Esauv, wanting the gifts without the covenants
Beresheeth/Genesis 25:7 Avraham dies this sets the stage for our Torah parsha. To render honor to Avraham from afar.
25:17 Ishmael died, he fell as he lived in hostility about his brethren.25:19 And these are the generations of Yitzchak, Avraham’s son: Avraham begat Yitzchak: 20 And Yitzchak was forty years old when he took Rivkah to be his wife, the daughter of Bethu-El the Aramean of Padan-Aram, the sister of Lavan the
Aramean. 21 And Yitzchak sought YHWH for his wife, because she was barren: and YHWH was found by him, and Rivkah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it is so, why am I like this? And she went to inquire of YHWH. 23 And YHWH said to her, two nations are in your womb, and two kinds of peoples shall be separated from your bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, see, there were twins in her womb.25 And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esav.26 And after that came out his brother….
Beresheeth/Genesis 25:19: And these are the generations of Yitzchak .(Eleh toldot Yitzchak, the Hebrew root of toldot is leidah which means birthing toldot/generations are the result of leidah/birthing. The Hebrew language infers Eleh toldot Rivkah,”These are the birth stories of Rivkah”). Avraham’s son: Avraham begatYitzchak.( Yitzchak , Yitzchak = double status which means the rightful heirs will be both physical and spiritual. The Jewish people are living as physical seed in the covenants of Torah but without the life giving ruach found in Moshiach.Yet many of our brethren may be living in the ruach filled faith found in Moshiach but they’re not living as physical seed in the covenants of Torah. In Chapter 27 Yitzchak is blind in part just as Yaakov/All Israel has become blind in part today to either the Torah covenants or ruach filled faith in Yahushua – Apostolic 5 fold ministry. ).
20 And Yitzchak was forty years old when he took Rivkah to be his wife, the daughter of Bethu-El the Aramean of Padan-Aram, the sister of Lavan the
Aramean. 21 And Yitzchak sought YHWH for his wife, because she was barren: and YHWH was found by him, and Rivkah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it is so, why am I like this? And she went to Inquire of YHWH. (A rare example in Torah of an” Oracle” as apposed to a prophecy. An oracle is obscure and cryptic unlike the usual prophecy common to the Hebrew’s. In Bamidbar/Numbers 12:8 YHWH said He spoke plainly to Moshe Rabainu not in oracles/hidot.).
Oracles?Hidot:חידה chiydah
Hitdot will accompany those in Torah who are able to hear, It’s a sure thing!
Ps 78 Give ear, O My people, to My Torah: 8 incline your ears to the words of My mouth.2 I will open My mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old
Shoftim 14:12 Shimpson “Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweet.” “What [is] sweeter than honey? and what [is] stronger than a lion?”
Ps 49:4 I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open my riddles upon the harp.
Mishle 1:6 To understand a Mishle, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their riddles.
Yehezchel 17:1 And the word of vuvh came to me, saying, 2 Ben-adam, put out a riddle, and speak a parable to Beit Yisrael;
Dan 8: 23 And in the latter time of their malchut, when the transgressors have filled their measure with sin, a melech of fierce purpose, skilled in the hidden things, shall stand up.
YHWH uses the Hidot to begin to speak to us in our prayer time. Baby steps the Hidot, if pursued will lead to prophecy.
Whether we like it or not Baalam was a true prophet: Bam 24:2 And Bilam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Yisrael abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the Ruach of Elohim came upon him 3 And he took up his mishle, and said, Bilam the son of Beor has said, and the man whose eyes are open has said: 4 He has said, who heard the words of El, who saw the vision of the Almighty, falling down, but having his eyes open:5 How tov are your tents, O Yaakov, and your tabernacles, O Yisrael!
Balaam’s words have been spoken in the Sabbath liturgy in synagogues for thousands of years. When the Hidot/Massa or prophetic word is spoken and the brethren see the vision given, some fall down with their eyes open.
Honest: Hidot and prophecy work together, yet, in times only the Hidot will be revealed, you pursue until prophecy is revealed or the prophetic word spoken. It’s edifying to speak the Hidot to others too. I often do up here.
A dark sentence, a hard sentences a dark saying an allegory. Often puzzling or baffling.
Hida appears 17 times in the Tanakh and it’s root Hud appears 4 times. In the past weeks my dreams are Hidot riddles or symbolic. This leads to prophecy, but you have to wait on YHWH to bring forth Hidot into prophecy.
Hidot is a wisdom setting that can assist you into the prophetic setting.
Hidot is set parallel to parable Ps 49:4, to figure, to word of the wise Prov 1:6.
Rav Saul new that YHWH revealed truth to earthly man in riddles.
1 Corinthians 13:12, for now we see through a mirror in a riddle, but then face to face ….
The difficulty of YHWH’s riddles is then seen in the next statement:
… now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.
The nature of YHWH is to conceal (with the ultimate purpose to reveal) truth in parables and riddles.
Being filled with the Ruach of Hidot, a wisdom setting that begins you on the path to the prophetic setting.
Spirit of Elohim’ (Ruach Elohim), ‘Spirit of Wisdom’ (Ruach Hochmah), and ‘Holy Spirit’ (Ruach HaQodesh) are one and the same and are used interchangeably throughout the Bible.
(Ex 28:3)”So you shall speak to all who are gifted artisans, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments, to consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest”.
The word ‘filled’ (Heb. male’ or mala’) to ‘accomplish’, ‘confirm’, ‘consecrate’, ‘furnish’, ‘replenish’ and ‘overflow’. This corresponds to a divine anointing. Here YHWH fills a gifted person and consecrates them the Ruach Hochmah or the Gift of Wisdom. Hochmah is one of the names of the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit). This ‘spiritual filling’ brings with it other gifts too:
(Ex.31: 2-6)”See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of Elohim (Ruach Elohim), in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.
Here the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of Elohim) “fills” Bazalel with “wisdom” (hochmah), “understanding” (tobunah), “knowledge” (da’ath) and “workmanship” (mel’akah) to work on the Tabernacle. It is specific to the calling given to him. In other words, the Spirit matches the calling and “fills” the person up so that he can fulfill the calling, or bring it to completion: Because of what I’ve been through as a rabbi here, YHWH in his mercy has now revealed to me Hidot to match my calling, to equip me for all I had to endure.
(Ex.35: 30-34).” And Moses said to the children of Israel, ‘See, Yahweh has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of Elohim (Ruach Elohim), in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship”
We can all be “filled with the Spirit” for tasks that are practical – to provide for building the body of messiah, to build or re-build the Tabernacle.
” (Luke 2:40).” And the Child (Yahshua) grew and became strong in spirit (ruach), filled with wisdom (hochmah, Gk. Sophia); and the grace (Gk. Charis, Heb. Hesed) of Elohim was upon Him.
The same filling bestowed upon Bezalel who was Spirit-filled to build the Tabernacle.
Satan can “fill” a heart too with his own counterfeit spirit:
Acts 5:2-3, “But Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?’”
Admonishment: Beware of the defiled conscience as a source for making judgments and receiving revelation. The spirit can be influenced by both the true and the false – beware of the teaching that the spirit will only respond to the things of YHWH, it won’t, we’re not infallible and we don’t have an infallible part of ourselves which we can always rely on. If we give in to, or don’t get over hurt, the harboring of ill feelings, grief and sadness – which is the realm of emotion, reason and logic we won’t be able to receive Hidot, which will get you to Prophecy. Hitbodedut from a position of mercy and open public confession will remove the blocks and you’ll obtain riddle revelation Hidot. I am warning you not to rely on a defiled conscience as a source for making any more judgments and saying you have revelation. (1 Cor.8: 7). Unless you can distinguish between your minds, your emotions and your ruach you’ll never know whether you are listening to YHWH, yourself or familiar spirits from your past hurts. It’s not enough brethren for “Peter said” John told me this” or “God told me this”, it’s not enough to be intuitive, see visions or have inspired dreams because these have multiple sources without a firm foundation of Torah Hidot how can we prophecy accurately?
The Hidot were given to Israel, those in Judea that followed Yeshua were operating in Hidot – Rom 3:2.When you allow YHWH to begin to speak to your inner being at first it may be in Hidot.
The Key to receiving Hidot is mercy, open confession removing any harboring of ill feelings, grief or sadness – which is the realm of emotion and logic and repenting of having a defiled conscience.
Does your conscience warn you strongly before you do anything, and keep you out of trouble, or only work by remorse afterwards?
1 Cor.2:14 the unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Ruach Elohim, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand then because they are spiritually discerned.
Ber 25:23 And YHWH said to her, two nations are in your womb (two goyim/seeds/nation, the first ultrasound! Bringing forth a nation or ministry takes a lot of struggle if you have the calling! If you don’t have the calling often times you’ll give birth with ease. I inquire of YHWH in my struggle, He’ll answer faithfully in Hidot or with the prophetic word; it’s intercession and prayer)
“…and two kinds of peoples shall be separated from your Bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.” (The power of the future to transform our understanding of the past. The word et, spelt aleph- tav, signaling the object of the verb is missing from the text. Thus the phrase told to Rivkah “ The older shall serve the younger” could also mean “The younger shall serve the older”. This ultimately will depend upon the presence or absence of the Aleph-Tav. Israel’s military conquests are recorded in Second Samuel 8:14.David killed 18,000 Edomites and all that remained became servants).
“…24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, see,”
“There were twins in her womb.” (Twins spelt Tav, Vav, Mem, and Mem. We’re missing an Aleph and the Yud. What we’re missing tells a story! Aleph pictographically is an Ox meaning strength and is used to represent Eloheim, as Aleph is the first letter of Elohiem and the pictograph for the Yud is the hand, which represents work, or the hand of man. Meaning they have nothing in common in relation to their works for Eloheim and they’re not identical twins).
“25 And the first came out red, all over like a hairy Garment; and they called his name Esav. 26 And after that came out his brother, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Yaakov: and Yitzchak was sixty years old when she bore them.” (The first is the natural man the second is the spiritual).
Qorintyah Aleph/First Corinthians 15:46: But the spiritual man was not first, but the natural man and afterwards the spiritual One. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second Man is the Master YHWH from the shamayim. 48 As is the earthy, so also are those that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, so also are those that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy one, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly One.
Enmity between the seeds. Protecting the head from being crushed, protecting the soft spot, protecting Israel.
Beresheeth/Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your zera and her Zera; He shall crush your head, and you shall bruise His heel.
The seed of the serpent Eauv tries to reverse this prophecy by trying to crush the head of the seed of the woman who in turn grabs the heel to protect his head
Also note Sixty in Verse 26.Sixty, Six hundred, Six thousand! This represents Zion, when Zion is birthed in the earths six thousandth year the war between the two seeds will escalate and Yaakov will overcome when his name is changed to Israel.
Ber 25:27 and the boys grew: and Esav was a skilled hunter, a man of the field; and Yaakov was a plain man, dwelling in tents. (A hunter of souls, a trapper, of men. Yaakov was a plain/tam, perfect, complete and balanced both physically and spiritually. A man of the field/sadeh = tiller, cultivator like Qayin/Cain. Dwelling in tents/ohel = wilderness tent or tabernacle).
“28 And Yitzchak loved Esav, because he did eat of his venison: but Rivkah loved Yaakov.” (Yitzchak loved Esauv for carnal reasons , not because he was his son. Rivkah loves Esauv ,present tense) .
“29 And Yaakov cooked pottage: and Esav came from the field, and he was faint.” (Pottage-Naziyd, Nun-Tzayin-Yod-Dalet = Proud, the pottage exposes Esav’s pride. Pottage- Naziyd – Greek- Peranamas- outside the law-Matt 7:21.
“Faint”.” Walked to the point of death” “Halak Muwth” Halacha = walk , his walk was killing him!Edom/Red. (Red hairy beards and Islam) Feed me or “Swallow with veracity, animal like. It appears only here in the whole TaNaKh to illustrate the depth of Esav’s savagery).30 And Esav said to Yaakov, Please feed me with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom31 And Yaakov said, Sell me this day your bechora.(He wants to honor and be part of the covenants and to render honor to Avraham and needs the birthright. The firstborn is supposed to officiate and lead in the honoring of the deceased family member as a Cohen and Esauv cares not! The carnal man is occupying his life with worldly pursuits and now wants to be fed. Here the stew represents the fruit of the spiritual mans life spent in the tents. The carnal man cries “feed me, teach me in ten verses or less. The spiritual man is always ready to forsake food and carnal pleasures for the opportunity to serve YHWH as the bachor/firstborn). 32 And Esav said, See, I am at the point of death: so what
profit shall this bechora be to me? (Careful! The exaggeration of Esauv “I’m starving”. An uncontrolled appetite).33 And Yaakov said, Swear to me this day; and he swore to him: and he sold his bechora to Yaakov34 Then Yaakov gave Esav lechem and a pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: so Esav despised his bechora.(Many call Yaakov/Jacob a deceiver or a supplanter. This comes from Medieval Christian anti-Semitism. Scripture records that this is the testimony of the seed of the serpent, Esauv and later Lavan!Yaakov literally means “One who takes the heel”).
Malachi 1:4 But cursed is the deceiver. Yaakov was blessed not cursed!
Beresheeth/Genesis 30:43 Yaakov increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and female avadim, and male avadim, and camels, and donkeys.
