Acts 10 & 11

ACTS 10:1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, 2 A devout man, and one that feared יהוה  with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to יהוה alway. 3 He saw in a vision.     

Gen 41:7 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river: 18 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fat fleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow: 19 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness: 20 And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine: 21 And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

Bible hermeneutics – vision and dreams are allegory and lessons prophecy in action. 

Flip flop theology: visions and dreams are made literal and literal commands become allegory and lessons, they’re spiritualized away to nothing and disobeyed – commandments somehow are rationalized away into principles and precepts. 

Bible hermeneutics – And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years.

Flip flop theology – We need to rush out and rescue the good kine the fat fleshed and well favoured for our dinner before the poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed come up and eat up our next weeks dinner!

BIBLE HERMENEUTICS: 

Context, context, context of Hosea is that Hosea the prophet is commanded by יהוה to take a wife of whoredom and children of whoredom:  a son – Jezreel – the valley of Jezreel where Israel lost all her battles, a daughter, lô’ rûchâmâh – no mercy and another son Lo-ammi – not my people.  

Hos 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Ten Israel was taken captive first from the Galilee AND WHERE WOULD WOULD IT BE SAID TO THEM “YE ARE SONS OF THE LIVING GOD?”

2 Ki 15:29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

JN. 21:6 Yahusha said to Peter…cast your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some…find what the lost sheep of Israel, the lô’ rûchâmâh and Lo-ammi. 

Jn  21:11  Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

153 is a Hebrew Gematria numerical value for a certain expression in scripture that happens only once…the numerical value of the letters in an expression is 153; fishing for “the sons of the living YAH.” (Hos. 1:10) This is the sign that you will become “fishers of men.” Cornelius-the first catch! You will be fishing for the lost sheep of the house of Israel and their companions scattered abroad! 

Hosea 1:8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. 9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God. 

1 Pet 2:19 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were Loammi/not a people, but are now the people of God: which were lo rummah had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Hosea 2:16 Then in context is a prophecy showing the very symbols of the New Covenant inception point when the Loammi and Lorummah are collected into the basket of יהוה. Hos 2:16 is the symbols of the New Covenant way of the nations – Cornelius returning to the ways of TORAH COVENANT! 

Hosea 2:16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. 18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

ACTS 10:8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

Peter’s Vision:

Act 10:9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

In light of Leviticus 11 the answer NO ONE!

Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What יהוה  hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 

2 Cor 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. 17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate, 18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. Act 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee. 20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. 21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come? 22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee. 23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

Jonah was sent from Joppa to the nations.

Now Peter son of Jonah is sent to the nations.

…24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. Act 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. (AS IN A SHEET).

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, (WHAT?) or come unto one of another nation; but YAH hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

The torah is very clear that there is one law for all men not one for Jews and another set for gentiles: 

Num 15:16 One TORAH and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

Peter was still observing the Oral law and blinded by the prevailing Jewish traditions and it was time for him to be delivered from it’s prejudices! 

We know he had this problem from Galatians 2:11 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.

12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

Jewish traditions and the Oral law were inhibiting the spread of the gospel and Paul corrected this problem. 

Talmud, Tosapoth Jebamoth 94b: “if you eat with a ‘goy’ it is the same as eating with a dog.” 

Ask yourself these simple questions! If Moshiach had made all foods clean then why would a vision be required, why would Peter be confused, why after eight years! 

THE BIBLE INTERPRETS THE BIBLE FOR US: Acts 11:5 I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: 6 Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw four footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. 8 But I said, Not so, Master: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. 9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What YAH hath cleansed, that call not thou common. 10 And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven. And, behold, immediately there were THREE LITTLE PIGS three men  already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me. And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house: 13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; 14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. “And as I began to speak, the Set-apart Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. 16 “And I remembered the word of the Master, how He said, ‘Yoḥanan indeed immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Set-apart Spirit.’ 17 “So if Elohim gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Master יהושע Messiah, how was I able to withstand Elohim?” 18 And having heard this, they were silent, and praised Elohim, saying, “Then Elohim has indeed also given to the gentiles repentance to life.”

BRETHREN,  I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU…WE ARE BEING USHERED INTO THE FULFILLMENT IN YOUR HEARING OF HOSEA 2:15 the valley of Achor is a door of hope – the tribulation is a door of hope when we get to sing the song of Moshe!
