What is the Melchizedek connection to Mt. Sinai? As we close out our study of Galatians, we examine the truth of the New Covenant in the cusp of the law transition point. Shaul/Paul understood that Torah teaches the primacy of Covenant fidelity, entered by through faith, with dependence on the Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit for discernment.
Galatians 6:1 Yisraelite brothers, if a man is overtaken in a trespass, you who are the spiritual ones restore him in the ruach of gentleness; while guarding yourself, lest you also be tempted.
No single person can make it alone, we need one another, we need to be with our believing community, ultimately dwelling together.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor, for if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow, but woe to one who is alone when he falls, for he has not another to help him up.
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so complete in practice the Torah of the Moshiach.
The law of Christ isn’t something contrary to or different to Torah. Shaul/Paul has already spent five chapters explaining to the community how they’re status in Torah is connected to the covenants of promise as distinct from the book of the law.
Galatians 6:3 For if a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Keep the right perspective of yourself, remember from where you whence came from!
Galatians 6:4-5 But let every man examine his own mitzvoth, and then shall he have gilah in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
Take the plank out your own eye….’examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith, prove your own selfs….’
Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word share with him that teaches in all tov things.
Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; tvkt is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that sows to his flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows into the Ruach Hakodesh shall from the Ruach Hakodesh reap everlasting chayim.
Agriculture of the Spirit:
Proverbs 22:8 He who sows iniquity will reap vanity, and the rod of his fury will perish.
Job 4:8 according to what I’ve seen, those who plough iniquity and those who sow trouble harvest it.
Hosea 8:7 For they sow the wind and they reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads, it yields no grain. Should it yield, strangers would swallow it up. Israel is swallowed up, they are now among the nations like a vessel in which no one delights.
Hosea 10:12 Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness, break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek יהוה until He comes to rain righteousness on you.
The flesh will deceive us into temporal pleasure with no consequence, it seduces, entices and envies.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in doing well: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not grow weary.
Carnality gives an instant reward it titillates, it delivers yet hides the consequences, in contrast to the spirit which is the long game, eternal rewards often times costing a sacrifice in the temporal-earthly realm!
Galatians 6:10 So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do tov to all men, especially to those who are of the household of believing Yisrael.
When you can, reward others, reward those in the household of faith.
Galatians 6:11 You see how large a letter I have written to you with my own handwriting.
Let’s revisit Yahusha’s crucifixion a moment here: Pilate implemented a reversal technique – hanging on a tree then stoning – thus placating all parties – Roman and Jewish! This technique is recorded in the DSS – Temple Scroll – Column 64. Also found in the Old Syriac mss.p207 and finally, the Slavic version of the Ascension of Isaiah.
So wouldn’t a blasphemer be stoned according to Torah then be hung? Did Yahusha receive this type of punishment? They even conducted a make shift false trial against the Messiah in a pseudo Sanhedrin with two false witnesses.
If Yahusha was stoned to Death, which was the law for blasphemy (Leviticus 24:15). then we should be able to see this thread revealed in scripture elsewhere.
Rav Shaul/Paul tells us he was stoned just like His master but he survived to tell the tale.
Acts 14:19 And there came certain unbelieving Yahudim from Antioch and Ikoniom, who persuaded the people to turn against the shlichim, and, having stoned Shaul, drew him out of the city, thinking he was dead.
Rav Shaul/Paul was stoned and left for dead but he lived to tell of the account.
Galatians 6:17 From now on let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Master Yahusha.
2 Corinthians 11:24-25 From the unbelieving Yahudim five times I received thirty-nine stripes. 25 Three times was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have been in the deep.
What marks?
He was not hung on a tree so the marks he spoke about are the stoning he had received.
Deuteronomy 21:22 And if a man has committed a sin worthy of death, then he shall be put to death, and you shall hang him on an eytz.
The Messiah took the curse of sin upon Him and gave His life for us.
Galatians 4:15…For I bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me.
The people loved Rav Shaul/Paul to even give their eyes to him. Rav Shaul/Paul had extensive damage to his eyes causing him to see with difficulty. He was unable to see properly after this stoning. The object of stoning is usually head and body.
Galatians 6:11 You see how large a letter I have written to you with my own handwriting.
Galatians 6:12 Those who desire to make a nice show of your flesh, they compel you to be brit-milah; in order to avoid suffering persecution for the execution stake of Moshiach.
Galatians 6:13 For those who are brit-milah do not keep the Torah; 6 but desire to have you become brit-milah, that they may boast over your flesh.
The Torah teaches covenant fidelity comes before circumcision, inclusion into the covenant is by faith not my mitvoth.
The infiltrators don’t keep the Torah because their focus is the mitzoth alone not the narrative of covenant fidelity that brings community inclusion.
Torah is a return to blood ratified covenant entered by faith and reliance on the RHK to teach you, that’s the torah that reaches and blesses the nations in fulfillment of the Torah mandate of Genesis 12.
Galatians 6:14 But vuvh forbid that I should boast, except in the crucifixion of our Master gauvh ha Moshiach, through whom the olam hazeh is impaled to me, and I am impaled to the olam hazeh.
We need to be in relationship to Yahusha and that relationship bears the fruit of covenant Torah – the rightly divided torah ratified at crucifixion!
Galatians 6:15 For in the Moshiach gauvh neither brit-milah, nor akrobustia, has strength to save, but only a renewed creation.
A new creation only happens by Yahusha and that new creation bears the fruit of covenant Torah……Hebrews 8:6 But now gauvh ha Moshiach has obtained a greater service, by which He also is the Mediator of a more advantageous brit, which was given as Torah based upon more advantageous promises.
Strong’s Greek # 3549; ‘nomotheteo’ translated as ‘established’ in most translations, should be translated as “to enact law,” or “sanction by law,” as it was in 7:11, meaning the New Covenant is established by virtue of the fact that it is given as The Torah made new in us.
Galatians 6:16 And as many as have their halacha according to this mishpat, shalom be upon them, and rachamim, be upon the Yisrael of vuvh.
Shalom and rachamin, in context was first bestowed upon Israel as a whole where? Yes you guessed it…..Exodus 19:4-24:11-the Mountain of Elohim!
Galatians 6:17-18 From now on let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Master gauvh. 18 Yisraelite brothers, the unmerited favor of our Master gauvh ha Moshiach be with your ruach. Amein.
Wrap up:
Galatians was composed at the cusp of the law transition point, Jews were not comprehending the Melchizedek transference and blood ratification return to Covenant Torah (Book of the Covenant) and were holding to ritualistic proselytic conversion as an entrance sign into to the Book of the Law before full believers were included among Yahuwah’s covenant people – Yahusha + proselytic conversion into the Book of the Law in conflict with Book of the Covenant Melchizedek community of faith – the faith of Abraham!
